Well! What a spectacle we had for you if you were one of the lucky ones to head down to Princes Street, Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago to witness Fashion & Funk!
Housed in Unit 14 of Waverley Market, the former Superdry Store (procured by Hammond Associates) was transformed into a glistening, rose carpeted catwalk on Sunday 14th May, ready for an evening of non-stop sass in the form of a free-entry Fashion & Funk event presented by international fashion designer Jacqui Burke’s Fashion School.
While excitement was brewing behind the scenes as the models put the finishing touches to their outfits, hair, and makeup, arriving guests were busy mingling and enjoying a selection of scrumptious hors d’oeuvres on offer as well as irresistible cocktails made by the talented bar staff on hand.
As eager friends, family, and curious locals all took their seats at the side of the runway, the first budding models kicked-off the show; busting moves, hyping up the crowd, and perfecting their catwalk with each and every stride.
One by one, models from all backgrounds and ages graced the runway in all manner of clothing, from classic chic attire to the brightest, most dazzling and show-stopping numbers; with some opting to wow the spectators by walking on their hands, cartwheeling, and even riding a tricycle!
To finish off the night, the crowd were then treated to a selection of vibrant dance performances and live music, showcasing a whole array of fantastic local talent.
If the constant clapping, whooping, dancing, and singing from both spectators and participants was anything to go by, everyone had an absolute blast! Why not see for yourself and watch the video below?
