Scottish Based Artists – Read This Post!

Are you a painter, sketcher, or sculptor? Perhaps you’re a promising musician or photographer? Whatever your creative talent may be, if you’re based in Scotland and looking for low cost, meanwhile studio space to work from then look no further because you’ve made it to the right post!

EP Spaces is Edinburgh Printmakers’ national network of affordable meanwhile spaces for artists and creative communities. They work with landlords through the help of Hammond Associates across Scotland, bringing disused shops, offices, and retail units back to life with new purpose and vitality by creating buzzing creative spaces in the heart of towns and cities that have limited workspaces for arts practitioners.

EP Spaces invite artists, creative practitioners, collectives, performers, local festival partners, and arts/wellbeing charities from any background to propose creative uses for the spaces, which are used as private and visible studios, rehearsal spaces, workshops, residency studios, storage spaces, and research bases.

Brief Overview Of Terms:

– 1 month minimum usage of space
– Licensees must have up to date PPL
insurance (this can be obtained with an
SAU membership or a-n membership)

“This has been an amazing opportunity for me to run my own wee
classes…I have been able to share my knowledge about my craft to
people who have loved it. It has increased my confidence, taught me lots of skills, and allowed me to get to know lots of lovely people including other EP Spaces Artists.”

Rebecca NicolLivingstone
“As I like to paint large canvases, the space affords me lots of room…the light is excellent and I feel very fortunate and privileged to have such a fantastic space within walking distance of my home.”

Margaret BrownAberdeen
“The space I have allows me the room and facility to create, hold workshops and develop my practice which would be near to impossible without it.”

Chris DuddyPaisley
“This is an excellent space for our needs and has enabled us to erect our largest layout diorama. For the first time in many years, our members can congregate and work collectively on group projects, build ambition, and help plan to complete ongoing projects.
All members are impressed with the space. The self-managed facilities in the building and the easy car parking, were also looked upon favourably.”

Bruce SwansonAberdeen
“I really appreciate the opportunity to have a studio/art hub in the heart of Kilmarnock. I have also found I love teaching and skill-sharing with amateur enthusiasts across various artistic mediums. I hope to continue to develop my personal practice and teaching for some time through my studio with EP Spaces. It’s a fantastic resource.”
