What’s New for Outer Spaces

Our friends at Outer Spaces have shared with us some of the many exciting projects they are working on as well as a selection of properties procured by Hammond Associates that are available across Scotland.

So, without further ado, let’s see what’s happening!

Venice Fellowships with Outer Spaces

in collaboration with british council

We are thrilled to announce that Outer Spaces will be working with the British Council as a partner on their Venice Fellowships programme at the British Pavilion during the 60th Venice Biennale in 2024.

The Venice Biennale (Italian: La Biennale di Venezia) is one of the longest-running cultural festivals in the world. The British Pavillion has been creating a space for artists and architects to captivate and challenge international audiences since its beginning in 1895. In 2024 respected artist and filmmaker John Akomfrah will represent Great Britain and add to this long-standing tradition.

The Venice Fellowships Programme is a unique opportunity for creative individuals, students, researchers, artists and professionals at the early stages of their career, to spend a month in Venice during the world’s most important art and architecture biennales.

COMING SOON: Sculpture Placement Group present Mick Peter at The Academy, Aberdeen

Sculpture Placement Group (SPG) is an artist-led, action research organisation based in Glasgow, aiming to improve the economic conditions for artists. Find out more about them here.

We have developed a partnership with SPG which aims to extend the shelf-life of artwork, bring it out of storage and show it to new audiences. First shown at Holburne Museum, Bath in 2022, Old Ghosts by Mick Peters will soon be installed in a window space at The Academy in Aberdeen.

The partnership project currently operates in Kilmarnock and Wester Hailes, Edinburgh and we’re excited to be bringing it to the new site in Aberdeen!
